Withdrawal Process

The Center for Financial Training requires all students who enroll in CFT courses to sign a registration form that states that they have read and understand the CFT withdrawal policy. Students must notify the CFT office and their financial institution in writing with intent to withdraw from a course. Failure to comply with these instructions, even during the pre-registration period, may result in the student absorbing all course fees, even if no classes have been attended. Employers may seek reimbursement from students who incur withdrawal charges.

A $50 withdrawal fee applies for ALL course withdrawals once CFT has received the registration, even if the course has not started yet. If textbook and materials have been mailed, an additional fee may apply.

The Withdrawal Form must be submitted in order to receive a “W” grade. Failure to send written notification will result in a final grade of “F” and will be documented on the student’s permanent record. Withdrawal dates are considered the date the written notification was received by the CFT office. Refunds will be issued to the financial organization minus any textbook and withdrawal fees. Organizations are encouraged to enroll a substitute prior to the course start date, when an employee is unable to attend.

In-Person Courses: 8-15 weeks in length
Withdrawals must be received prior to the start date to receive a full refund, minus the withdrawal fee. Withdrawals received after the start date, but before the third session will be subject to the textbook fee in addition to the withdrawal fee. No refunds will be given after the third session.

In-Person Courses: Less than 8 weeks in length
Withdrawals must be received prior to the start date for a complete refund, minus the withdrawal fee. No refunds will be given after the course has begun.

Independent Study Courses
Withdrawals received after the CFT office has received the registration are subject to a $100 withdrawal fee. No refunds will be given once materials have been sent to the student.

Online Courses
Withdrawals must be received no later than 10 business days prior to the start date to receive a full refund, minus the $50 withdrawal fee. Withdrawals received less than 10 business days before the start date will be assessed a cancellation fee as follows:
6+ week course = $100.00 + textbook fee
4-5 week course = $75.00 + textbook fee
Transfer fee after the course has started =$150.00

Self-Paced Online Courses
No refunds will be issued once the registration has been processed.

Seminars
Seminar withdrawals will only be accepted before the registration deadline, typically one week prior to the seminar date. Any student withdrawing after the deadline will be responsible for the full cost of the seminar, however a substitute may attend at no additional cost. Please notify the CFT office of any substitutions prior to the seminar whenever possible.
